While you don’t always need a bachelor’s degree in meteorology to get a job as a meteorologist or atmospheric scientist, you will have to have a significant amount of credits in meteorology. In order to get a job with the US Government, you will need a total of 24 semester hours of atmospheric scientists.

4 in 10 atmospheric scientists work for the Federal Government, the largest employer of these workers. A bachelor’s degree in meteorology, or in a closely related field with courses in meteorology, is the minimum educational requirement; a master’s degree is necessary for some positions, and a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) is required for most basic research positions.

Atmospheric Science Field Description. Atmospheric science concerns the study of processes in the atmosphere, from the planetary boundary layer to the ionosphere.
Adaptation measures are necessary to ensure the stability and performance of the food supply relative to anthropogenic climate change. Although a wide range of measures have been proposed (e.g., planting dates, crop choices, drought resistance), there may be a ubiquitous means to increase productivity relatively quickly. Numerous studies have shown that the projected increase in atmospheric ...
